One of the d.school's first ever non-Stanford Teaching Fellows.
Turns out everything around here really is a prototype. This year, the d.school accepted applications from non-Stanford grads for the first time. The result: a team of teaching fellows with real-world professional experience. The experiment must've worked. Applications are now open for next year's fellows, and they're looking for more professionals!
Spring: a first of its kind business accelerator
Accelerating high-potential businesses with the resources to scale
I'm so proud to announce SPRING, a pioneering new business accelerator. For the past year, I've worked almost exclusively on this innovative initiative from fuseproject, Nike Foundation, USAID, UKAID, Context Parters, and more. SPRING is designed to improve the lives of girls by supporting and growing businesses that offer products and services that help girls keep safe, learn, earn, or save without harm.
The program offers grant funding and financial planning, mentorships and peer-to-peer collaboration to help businesses scale, starting with the most essential thing—funding. Up to 18 SPRING businesses will have access to variable grant funding of an average of USD $80,000 per business to support growth and scale.
The five-year program kicks off in Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda, and 18 businesses will be chosen as the first cohort.
My role: human-centered design lead, girl-centered research lead working directly with girls in East Africa, .org website design lead (content strategy, IA, wireframing, copywriting, art direction), collaboration on accelerator design

The way people work is ever changing — we've designed a furniture system to change with it
PUBLIC is an office furniture system designed from the ground up to help people work better together. It’s the first system based on ergonomic seating to encourage collaboration everywhere: at the desk, in circulation, and group spaces.
The PUBLIC strategy defined a point of view on the future of work and the design approach we employed to create furniture that helps people work more collaboratively and productively, and showcases our client’s continued thought leadership in the industry. The result is a revolutionary new office furniture solution with a harmonious visual connection that also encourages human connection.
My role: design research, conceptualization, design strategy, naming, storytelling (copywriting, brochure, posters, and concept book), and system design (all collaborative, as always)
